What We Do and Why

At Margie’s Books, we seek opportunities to provide books for under-resourced educational settings in order to help animate teaching and learning.

Books are foundational to healthy literacy development for all children and youth. Too often educators do not have the books they need to engage children to become lifelong readers. Teachers may need linguistically and culturally diverse books for a class library or a class set of one title for a whole-class reading. Community centers may need diverse books to meet a range of interests for children they serve.

We know that relationships with books can be transformational. At Margie’s Books, we advocate for and help facilitate the potential magic that books can create with readers from preschool through high school.
